Discovery Program Steps
Step 1: Signon for Discovery Program with Mentor Manager Systems Inc.
Complete the Discovery Program worksheet and forward the excel file via email to Mentor Manager Systems mentorsales@mentormanager.com. This file is located in the folder c:\MentorEnterpriseDiscoveryProgram and should be opened from the folder to properly edit and save the file. We will then configure a School Site, Programs, Courses and generic teacher accounts for use in the Discovery Program and return the file to the Site Administrator. We also ask that our Confidentialiy Agreement be signed and faxed to 250 229 2265.
Step 2: Online Orientation Meeting
The initial project planning meeting can be conducted from Mentor's online meeting room. We can use a phone conference line provided or preferrable Skype if all participants have setup a Skype Account . During this meeting, the Discovery Program essentials will be presented and discussed.
Project planning topics will cover the tasks and roles involved with a thorough system review. The Mentor Enterprise Summary and Detailed project plan in PDF format also identifies the deployment projects phases in the event the customer project team decides to proceed with full implementation.
Reaching consensus on the Education Business Process Flowchart is key to gauging how close a fit Mentor Enterprise will be for Customer Site exisiting operations and planned improvements. Any required processes discovered to be missing during this process will be documented for future development planning.
The Mentor Enterprise User Guide will be reviewed in enough detail to gain an understanding of how a Teacher would manage online Students and Classes. Details on the process of building Courses, creating Assessments, importing various types of Courses and Learning Objects will be highlighted. This user guide will be the core training material for administrators and teachers supplemented with Captivate training media.
Step 3: Conduct Discovery Test Phase
Using the User Documentation as a guide, LOGON and explore the cycle of providing online and blended learning to ficticious or live students participating in the review. Contact Mentor Manager Systems as required to review any issues encountered. The Knowledge Base and Help Desk Site can also be used to find answers to questions and log new cases or incidents for review by our Support Team.
In addition to reviewing demonstration courses provided as directed in the Mentor Enterprise User Guide, we suggest building a new course and assessment from scratch, importing an IMS or Scorm Course and linking Learning Objects from different sources. For sites that have content in MS Office products we recommend downloading the Thesis Learning Essentials to enable creating high quality SCORM Learning Objects to attach to a Course with Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
To achieve the goal of delivering high quality online courses with supported by continuous improvement program we suggest adopting a model similar to our Mentor Course Quality Assurance Model.
Step 4: Approval To Proceed with Full Implementation of Mentor Enterprise.
When the decision is made to progress with a full implementation we will provide a Mentor Enterprise Quotation, Software License Agreement and Deployment Project Plan for signage. This package will also include a Schedule A for Customer requested Development Projects and Programs and a Schedule B for Customer requested Professional Services based on final negotiations.
